Your complimentary consultation
Every orthodontic journey begins with an orthodontic evaluation by a qualified doctor. As a, Dr. Sandifer has spent years learning how to identify and correct misaligned teeth and other dental issues! We view this appointment as one of the most important ones you’ll have, and do our best to make it enjoyable for patients.Â
During this visit, you’ll get to know a bit about our team, discuss any concerns you have about your oral health, and receive a thorough examination by Dr. Sandifer. Once this exam is complete, we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about your diagnosis or the proposed treatment plan.This part of the visit will give us important insight into your orthodontic needs and typically takes about half an hour.Â
We know your time is valuable, so we may also reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records, which will help expedite treatment. These records include digital photographs, X-rays, and a scan of your teeth for study models. This allows us to get a good look at what’s happening beneath the surface of your smile, giving Dr. Sandifer a deeper understanding of your overall oral health.Â
Diagnostic records are an essential part of developing a customized treatment plan for you, and will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
Walking you through your treatment options
Once we’ve completed your exam and diagnostic records, Dr. Sandifer will discuss her findings and walk you through your treatment options. We offer a variety of affordable treatment options! We’ll also ensure all the important points have been covered, including:
- any oral issues you are experiencing
- if treatment is recommended right away
- an estimate of how long we expect your treatment to take
- the total investment required for your new smile
- any payment or financing options available to you
We never want you to feel rushed through your appointments, especially not this first one. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to bring them to our attention! By analyzing each patient’s specific needs and desires in this way, we’re able to engage in focused planning. This leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.

Because every case is different and each patient responds to treatment in their own way, the total costs will always vary. However, our team will always ensure you understand everything included in your treatment plan before moving on to the active phase of your orthodontic journey.Â
Our practice has payment options to fit every budget. Our payment plans include 0% financing over the course of treatment, and we offer paid-in-full discounts as well. If you have insurance that covers orthodontic treatment, we’ll obtain that information prior to your consultation and include the estimated benefit in your overall treatment fee. Our insurance coordinator and treatment coordinator will help you understand how insurance can play an important role in your orthodontic treatment!
The next step towards a healthier smile
After your initial consultation, we’ll schedule an appointment for your appliance to be fitted. We’re committed to making this a positive and stress-free experience for you! You’ll have access to our team throughout the visit should you have any additional questions or concerns.Â
Whether you’re in braces or clear aligners, follow-up visits will be an essential part of the orthodontic process. You’ll be scheduled to see Dr. Sandifer every 6-10 weeks or so, and she’ll use this time to check that things are progressing as they should be. If you’re in braces, she’ll adjust them and may change out the wire as well.Â
We try to schedule these appointments for a day and time that’s convenient for you, but we know that life can be unpredictable sometimes. If you’re running late or can’t make your appointment for any reason, let us know as soon as possible and we’ll be happy to reschedule it for you. This keeps your treatment on track and will help ensure the best results in the shortest amount of time possible!Â
